Named for Rev. John Fitzgerald the legendary New York priest who served Mass to Irish lumberjacks in the Adirondacks. Father "Fitz" hiked throughout the woods wearing his coonskin cap and woolen mittens to serve Mass to the forest workers at their camps. In his honor we are making a dark and creamy ale with a thick long lasting head for October Festivals and the crisp days of autumn.
We made this ale to be just as refreshing as the last dip of the summer into your favorite lake. We try to remember that the last dip of summer has get you through the whole year. This August the sun was setting behind us as we dove, jumped, fell or cannonballed into Lake George, no one willing to concede the end of the trip or their last dip. If your last dip is starting to wear off...try one of ours, it just might help.
Have you ever fallen asleep swinging in a hammock? It's the BEST. At the beach we always hear our boys yell "I got the hammock" and race to it to grab a quick nap or just relax. This traditional fresh and crisp Cream Ale is infused with 5 lbs of fresh Adirondack blackberries and is made for relaxing on just such a hammock. We will have them ready in time for Indian Summer....But I wouldn't suggest leaving a bottle on the back porch if you live in black bear country!
